About the Reporter
Rebecca Shabad works as a legislative researcher at CQ Roll Call in Washington, DC, and was previously CQ’s editorial assistant during which she contributed a number of policy-related stories.
Prior to joining CQ Roll Call, Rebecca reported for Patch.com on a freelance basis for the site launched in Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. She produced several text and video stories each week.

Telling stories is Rebecca’s greatest passion in life. She has had a strong interest in covering politics from a young age. As for policy areas, she enjoys covering veterans’ affairs, national security, foreign policy, defense and election law issues.
Rebecca interned at the former Newsweek magazine intermittently for three years at its website and in its domestic & overseas letters departments.
She also interned at NY1 News in Manhattan at its assignment desk and production department for a summer.
Some of her other strong interests include World War II, the Cold War and genealogy.
